28

Well you know you’re in trouble on your birthday when the waiter brings the entire male staff to sing your “Happy Birthday” tune while making jokes about it being your 22nd birthday. Apparently I have truly entered adulthood, though I blame that on the fact that I had both of the kids with me.

Easter History

But who could deny these faces?

It is good to look back and remember.
It is good to look back and appreciate from where you’ve come.
But I’m not a big believer in denying reality to prevent moving forward…which we all do at one point or another 😉

That being said, I don’t plan on being one who relives my 29th birthday every year.
I suppose that could change, but I don’t anticipate that it will.
I’m glad that I am no longer 22. I’m glad to be exactly where I am.

I spent 25 looking back at the things I had accomplished.
I spent 26 enjoying the present.
I spent 27 apparently too busy to write anything.

But 28…

This day was spent looking forward.

Both of my “babies” will keep growing.
Michael and I will have been married for 6 years, with only so many more to come.
We get to finish unpacking in our new home that is sure to be full of many days of laughter and pitter-patter.

This year, in less than a month, I become “Doctor”.

Grad Announcement

I think that’s the kicker here.
Let’s face it. You can only be so young to have finished medical school. (Can I get an “amen”?)

It truly seems that my best days really are right in front of me…let’s see where the road takes us next!

What are you looking forward to?
