Back in the game

Well, it’s been a few weeks. My how life can overwhelm you when you are having fun!

I thought I would start off your week with some thoughts I had over the weekend.

Worship. You come to lift up Jesus, to make much of Him. But sometimes, I think we let our minds and things we are going through get in the way. And in those times, we’ve gotta put our mind in its place by focusing on how Great our God is compared to whatever we’re going through. And I’m not just talking about “going to church on sunday” worship, I’m talking about the daily “point your mind and heart to God” where ever you are kind of worship.

Like the Psalms say, “Bless the Lord, Oh my soul, and ALL that is within me, bless His holy name!” I think the writer was telling himself, “Hey you, Mind, Body, Spirit, Get in line! I am going to worship the Lord–No matter what else is going on!” Maybe that is where you are today, and if so, take a second and tell yourself just that. The truth is, that your mind (soul), and body HAVE to fall in line when your Spirit takes charge like that. You’ll be surprised how your focus changes as a result–for the better.

Or today, maybe something you’re feeling is alone. Maybe you feel like someone who is on the outside looking in. You see all these people who are living with their hearts pointed to Christ, and you want to, but feel utterly lonely.  You don’t have to.  Let me read you something:

Eph 2:19-21

“So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family. 20 Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. 21 We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord.

When you make that decision to follow Him, you become part of something that is much bigger than words can say. A kingdom that spans generations! Imagine, millions of people over thousands of years, all with their lives pointed to Christ. You are part of that.

Basically, You’re in the family. Nothing can ever change that. And Jesus is the cornerstone. The piece that holds it all together. And He dwells in you by His Spirit!

Our hope is in Him, our joy is in him.. From him, to Him, and through Him are ALL THINGS! And you know something? He loves you. He desires to know every part of you. He desires your worship. His grace has made a way for you. Isn’t that something worth being excited about? Isn’t that something worth praising Him for?
